First Lady’s luncheon Limited Edition Freedom Pin by Ann Hand. The pin was designed and created by Ann Hand and features the Statue of Freedom. This piece is from the limited edition set created especially for the First Lady’s luncheon in May 1994. Each piece is date stamped. The First Lady’s luncheon is a who’s who in Washington and invitations are very hard to come by. This was owned by a lady that worked for a senator for many years. Each end of the pin has a triangular Citrine stone with 3 Swarovski Crystals. Total of 2 Citrine stones and 6 Swarovski crystals. Includes the original box, COA notating the exclusivity of the limited edition luncheon piece, and Freedom description paperwork. Other versions of this pin do not have the same date stamp, they are numbered pieces. Measures approx 3 long. This is an estate piece. Minor signs of wear. Clasp is in good working order. Box shows signs of wear and the white insert has a mark on it. Please use the zoom function on the images to see detailed condition information. Required to ensure safe arrival. Freedom is modeled after the Statue of Freedom that crowns the dome of the US Capitol Building. Like the original, which was first raised to the dome on Dec 2 1863, the Freedom pin represents “Freedom triumphant in war and piece”. She holds a sheathed sword in her right hand, in her left, a laurel victory wreath and the shield of the United States with 13 stripes. Her helmet is encircled with stars representing the original 13 states and features an eagle crest and feathers. The freedom pin commemorates the Freedoms statues 130th anniversary and the ideals and dreams for which she stands. Quarter is for size reference only and is not included in the listing.
