Oh yeah too – as how could I even’ almost’ forget… Drums > Space > Other One!!!!! I mean I don’t even know what else to say’ Other’ than… I’m so incredibly lucky that I caught this G. The eager anticipation of the Dead Fans was at a new high, and the’ Mighty’ Energy of the Band was just completely infectious – as they were downright ” ON “!!! I was actually lucky-enough so-thankfully! To catch this Incredible! – the ” Loose Lucy ” kick-down Night! – played by the Boys for the Very-First! With Garcia on’ Complete-Fire’!!! And, along with the Whole-Band! Too – to be completely-accurate. But yours truly pulled it all off thank you, thank you! , and next thing I knew I was basking in the sheer Glory & Magnificence! Of a Playin’ > Uncle John’s > Drums > Space > Mr. Right along with the ” Loose Lucy “!!! — easily by far… The ” Loudest ” & Craziest! Live crowd response I have’ ever’ heard from not only from a crowd at a Live-Dead Show… At’ Any’ Live Rock & Roll Concert!!! And, for what it’s worth too – at least in my own humble Dead Fan opinion – my view looking back on this Spring’90 Tour isn’t usually the most popular by any stretch of the imagination… , as pretty much everyone seems crazy about the’ Branford’ Show at the Nassau Coliseum. I personally question if’ Brass’ even belongs with Rock & Roll, and especially-with… And, I do well know that others feel otherwise, and quite differently — but, at least to me & my humble Dead Fan ears… 3/14/90 cap Centre Show was indeed The Best! Spring’90 Tour Show – overall, and all things considered. It’s was indeed the’ shortest’ Show, it’s set list doesn’t completely jump out at you other than – the ” Loose Lucy” – naturally… But, ” playing ” wise – I really think it was the very best of the’ Entire’ Tour. There was a little bit nervous energy up there naturally… With all of the Boys, for this ” Tour-Opener ” – and they immediately & completely! Channeled it, and then Hammered! Personally, I even consider this 3/14 Show to be one of the Very-Best! Post-1989′ Grateful Dead Era. I mean for lack of a better way to put it? ” Good Ol’ Grateful Dead ” caliber musicianship & playing… Means it’s All! Meant real serious business all through this 3/14/90 Show, were on Total! And — here indeed is The’ Proof’ in this exceptional pro-released format! Which, only took like 25-Years! But, my goodness – was it ever worth the wait! As that truly-is what I personally love best about the Spring’90 Tour… Is that they are indeed delivering ” Rock & Roll “!!! Just as one of my long-time Dead Buddies once so eloquently stated… Man, I just really prefer’80’s &’90’s Dead… Because they are just like… And, when Spring’90 hits New York! – you just know what’s coming next… And, keep in mind too that this 3-Show’ Nassau’ stand actually directly followed the Boys delivering 3-straight Shows at the Knickerbocker Arena – in Albany, New York… Likely best known to you as — ” Dozin’ At The Knick “! More Legendary ” Spring 1990 ” Tour, and some of the 1st boards that were let out of the oh-so-precious G. ” Vault ” way-back in like 1996! So-funny too, to think that’96 is actually now close to 30-Years Ago! And especially when there is so-much Grate! Dead to listen to. I mean remember way-back in 1991 – when it was pretty much just ” One From The Vault ” – unless you had your racks of Tapes! Pretty much all of us did! As far as this 3/28 Nassau Show goes – it is truly beyond me why it pretty much came out’ last’ of the Albany & Nassau runs (pretty-much) – well, you know… Unless the powers that be were indeed saving some of the Best! Easy To Love You! – Cassidy > Deal!! — Foolish Heart > L. Hey Pocky Way!!! > Drums/Space > The Other One!!!!! Good Lovin’ to close… I mean – see what I-mean!! ? – and an even Hotter! I distinctly remember getting these board tapes myself right-before my’92 Spring Tour run – and I We! I fully know people were really head over heels in the breezeway… Over the whole Branford thing – but, at least to me – and my Rock & Roll ear… I think this is a superior Show! – all things considered… And most importantly naturally… Garcia’s chops sound fresher! With more Rosebud ” Kick “!! And too, he was just so-into delivering the Loose Lucy! On this run – to the Dead Fan Faithful… Jerry knew what that meant to all of us – because it meant the same to him! So, in other words… Here-is the 3/19/90 Hartford Civic Center Show! In it’s sound quality… And a simply Amazing! Release from one of the most Historic!! Shows on this Grateful Dead Spring’90 Tour. This Show was the 2nd Night at the Hartford Civic, on a 2-Show Connecticut stand! I was lucky enough to catch the Spring Tour’90 Cap Centre run prior to this Hartford stand, and – was also lucky enough to have all Six (6) Set of the Cap Center run on Audience tape… Within the same week! But, that leads me nicely into a distinct thought that I will never forget about this Hartford run, and even more specifically – this 3/19/90 Harftord Show. Before this Tour was even complete – word on the street was that this Show, and specifically this 1st Set! That it was actually the very-1st! Soundboard recording that circulated, and circulated unbelievably-fast! Let’s just put it this way… As before the week of 3/19 was even over, I had 1st Gen Boards in my hands! — of’ both’ sets, and in Impressive! Cass-Master like sound quality. So, you bet I’ll never-forget that moment – as it was indeed the very-1st time ever that I had any Spring’90 Tour on tape! And, I had these before the Band could even get back to the U. From the 2-Show Hamilton Ontario Canada stand! By the time the Shows at the Knick! Had commenced, I was already rolling & listening heavily! To this 3/19/90 Hartford Show. So, my point being… Meant some serious-business on 3/19, and here indeed is the Proof! In the pro-released format! Which, only took like 22-years! But, my goodness – is it ever worth the wait! It is no secret at all why this Spring 1990 Tour was selected for its glorious! Pro-release, and 3/19/90 is one of the finest! Treasure pieces to prove this fact. This Show opened with a Cooker! – followed by an uptempo Bertha! Brent’s We Can Run was quite pretty… Jack-A-Roe & Picasso Moon Smoked!!! In fact, I really do remember this Jack-A-Roe specifically being a real 1st Set’ Stand-Out’ from this Tour! Brown Eyed Women was real-nice, and it was followed up by a super-duper attack hearty! Combo of both All Over Now > Deal!!! Then in Set II – Phil! Greeted the Hartford Civic Dead Fan Faithful! A Box Of Rain Opener!! From here, it was Foolish Heart > Playin’ > Eyes time… Which, may I add got’ quite’ exploratory! And, let’s not forget either – how-hot! Garcia’s fret board chops were on Foolish Heart, right around this time & era – Fresh! Then after a spooky & haunted! China Doll out of Space… Came more big Phil-Thunder…- with the Gimmie Some Lovin’!! Followed by GDTRFB > Around, with a sparky Brokedown! To close up the Encore slot on this 3/19 Hartford Show. As that truly-is what I personally love best about the Spring’90 Tour… Is that they are indeed delivering ” Rock & Roll “!!! Just as one of my long-time Dead Buddies once so eloquently stated… Man, I just really prefer’80’s &’90’s Dead… Because they are just like… And, when Spring’90 hits New York! – you just know what’s coming next… And, keep in mind too that this 3-Show’ Nassau’ stand actually directly followed the Boys delivering 3-straight Shows at the Knickerbocker Arena – in Albany, New York… Likely best known to you as — ” Dozin’ At The Knick “! More Legendary ” Spring 1990 ” Tour, and some of the 1st boards that were let out of the oh-so-precious G. ” Vault ” way-back in like 1996! So-funny too, to think that’96 is actually now close to 30-Years Ago! And especially when there is so-much Grate! Dead to listen to. I mean remember way-back in 1991 – when it was pretty much just ” One From The Vault ” – unless you had your racks of Tapes! Pretty much all of us did! As far as this 3/28 Nassau Show goes – it is truly beyond me why it pretty much came out’ last’ of the Albany & Nassau runs (pretty-much) – well, you know… Unless the powers that be were indeed saving some of the Best! Easy To Love You! – Cassidy > Deal!! — Foolish Heart > L. Hey Pocky Way!!! > Drums/Space > The Other One!!!!! Good Lovin’ to close… I mean – see what I-mean!! ? – and an even Hotter! I distinctly remember getting these board tapes myself right-before my’92 Spring Tour run – and I We! I fully know people were really head over heels in the breezeway… Over the whole Branford thing – but, at least to me – and my Rock & Roll ear… I think this is a superior Show! – all things considered… And most importantly naturally… Garcia’s chops sound fresher! With more Rosebud ” Kick “!! And too, he was just so-into delivering the Loose Lucy! On this run – to the Dead Fan Faithful… Jerry knew what that meant to all of us – because it meant the same to him! I mean just pull one of these Lucy’s from Spring’90 up on YouTube… And you’ll be jaw-dropped by intricacy, command & overall power! In his fret board attack!! Oh yeah too – as how could I even’ almost’ forget… Drums > Space > Other One!!!!! I mean I don’t even know what else to say’ Other’ than… I’m so incredibly lucky that I caught this G. More Legendary ” Spring 1990 ” Tour, and some of the 1st boards that were let out of the oh-so-precious G. ” Vault ” way-back in like 1996! I distinctly remember getting these board tapes myself right-before my’92 Spring Tour run – and I & We-All! I fully know people were really head over heels in the breezeway… And, at least to me and my Rock & Roll ear… I think this is just one of the superior Shows! Overall from a Rock & Roll! Standpoint – all things considered… And even most importantly too naturally… I just think Garcia’s chops sound just a little bit fresher! – at least to me… With a bit more Rosebud ” Kick “!! – here now 12-Shows into the Tour! — The Dark Star!!!!! As right around this point in time, the younger Deadhead Faithful back then were getting so-luckily ” used-to ” getting these! And, you betcha this one is something special… & cohesive Garcia-led Jams!! I mean I don’t even know what else to say’ Other’ than… I’m so incredibly lucky that I caught this G. Well-over 30-Years Ago! I mean what can you say? – when You’re Havin’ Fun!! The Band meant real-serious business all throughout this Nassau run, were Red-Hot! This is a 3-CD Set featuring the entire 3/16/90 Cap Centre Show 20 Live Tracks! – and it was solely available for sale inside the Limited Edition Spring 1990 Box Sets issued in 2012 by Grateful Dead Productions. So, in other words… Here-is the 3/16/90 Cap Center Show! In its sound quality… And a simply Amazing! Release from one of the most Historic!! Shows on this Grateful Dead Spring’90 Tour. This Show was the 3rd Night at the Cap Centre, on a 3-Show Maryland stand! I was lucky enough to catch this Spring Tour’90 Cap Centre run, and all I can say on that great-fortune is… Right-Place at the Right-Time! – in Time & Space!! Just like it would happen often at Grateful Dead Shows! Pound for pound, and Show for Show! – I personally believe this 3/14/90 > 3/15/90 > 3/16/90 run at the Cap Centre to be one of the Absolute-Best! Dead Show stands that I ever saw. It is no secret at all why this Spring 1990 Tour was selected for its Glorious! Pro-release – and 3/16/90 is just one of the many fine treasure pieces to prove this fact. This Show opened (very-appropriately) with Let The Good Times Roll! Touch of Grey was played – and the Minglewood following was Hot! A huge version of Loser & Bird Song in the 1st Set. And, Brent’s Blow Away’ almost’ still stole the show on the 1st Set! But, Weir still found a way to end up on top – and’ History-wise’ too even – by delivering the 1st! Live Black-Throated Wind since 1974!!! – 10/19/74 at the Winterland! And, as for Set II… It was indeed the Scarlet >… Real tight, and Real-Hot! Stella Blue into a Hockey-Rink Rockin’! And, thankfully this was not the’ Last Time’ for the Band at the Cap! – as I made certain to catch the next 6-Shows! That they played there, on both the Spring’91 &’92 Tours.
